This week’s Weather Challenge is Dust Storm!
The background on this two-page spread is the central U.S. – Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Texas – classic places for a haboob!
I printed the different names of dust storms on the pc. Colored in printed vintage photos (more about those later) with sepia colors of crayons and cut out little orange storm shapes from scrapbook paper.
Downloaded and printed a vintage copy of the classic Dust Bowl/Great Depression-era novel, The Grapes of Wrath, by John Steinbeck. Lightly colored in with sepia colors of crayon; more names for dust storms.
These two photos came from Wikipedia. Apt but terrible examples of how bad the Dust Bowl was in the 1930’s.
That came out great, you are so creative.
