- Did you have a sports hero? Who was he or she and what was their sport?
The only sport hero I ever had was Secretariat, winner of the Triple Crown.
I dreamed of owning him.
He was the 1973 Triple Crown Winner. I had just been moved from Mississippi to Virginia by my father (the rest of the family came too) and had to leave my own horse behind. I swore I would never speak to him again. Of course as a 13-year-old those types of promises are normal! Anyway, Secretariat was very special to me during such a difficult transition. My horse, Keyno, was red (Secretariat’s color), had white socks and a white blaze.
A few years ago I turned to Ebay to hunt down the Time Magazine Secretariat cover. I spent $50 for it – and don’t regret it!
Big Red is running free in Heaven!! Maybe one day when I’m there I’ll get a chance to ride him! (Hey, a girl can dream!)

- Did you ever take something apart just to see how it worked or what was inside it? What was it? What did you find in there?
Just a bunch mechanical things I had no idea what they were. It wasn’t working and I thought I could fix it. I was wrong.
Had one of these, too! It’s a tape rewinder in case you didn’t know!!! When you rented a tape and didn’t rewind it your account was charged a small fee!
I had this collection, too! Star Trek the Next Generation on tape! Loved it!!
I found a new challenge to participate in!! Well, it was recommended to me by another blogger. This challenge is sponsored by P.S. Annie! What movie could you, or did you, see over and over and over again when you were a teenager?
That’s right, STAR WARS!!! I had just graduated high school and the first time I saw it (with my best friend) I remember the feeling of awe watching that first scene where the Imperial Destroyer was chasing the smaller ship and it entered the screen from the top – and just kept going and going and going, getting bigger and bigger. I was breathless! When it came to an end, my friend and I left the theater and got right back in line to see it again. I watched it over 12 times that first summer. It is still one of my all-time favorites – but I say that with a caveat – I ONLY like the original movie. I watched the first 2 sequels, was disappointed in them (no magic for me) and the revised version of the first one (Episode IV for the fans) that George Lucas did with enhanced digital effects. No magic for me.
I also had the album – in LP form – and played it over and over and over again! And yes, I did have a crush on Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker); I had many fantasies of conquering space with him!
Go HERE to see the opening sequence on YouTube. Make it fullscreen, turn the volume up LOUD and try to imagine sitting in a darkened theater watching the magnificence unscroll on a HUGE screen – not the dinky ones we have today. Even today I felt my heart race a bit when I watched it again – 39 years later!

Daily Life List: What do you do on an average day? Make a list of your usual activities you do each day.
1. 3 a.m. wake up
2. Between then and 4:30 a.m., feed cats, clean litter boxes, feed self, check emails, short blog post if possible, get ready for work, leave for work
3. 5 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., work answering calls, making sales and taking complaints

Well, Kiddies, today is the day we are supposed to reveal our theme for the Blogging A to Z Challenge. Of course, I let it slip earlier – I will be doing Nursery Rhymes!! I’ll give you a hint about the first one – it’s about an apple! And the last one is, that’s right, zebra! Simple, I know, but the ones in between aren’t so simple. And, of course I will be illustrating them, after, it is what I do! I hope you will tune each day (except Sundays) to read them. I’ll be posting them under a page of their own as I go and I’ll also include a link to the main page so you can check out other A – Z bloggers! Remember – April 1 is the day! Until then, Love and Feathers, Auntie Goose.
