19-Somethin’ #10

This challenge is sponsored by P.S. Annie! It’s called 19-Somethin’, where participants answer a question about their past each day of September. Sounds like a fun way to spend a September, right?

  1. What fashion did you like the most, and the least, from your younger years?

In high school I loved plaid bell bottoms!! These are images from the internet – I couldn’t any of me with some on!

Fashions I hated were prairie style maxi dresses!! (Also from the internet)full_size

Later on in the 80’s I loved shoulder pads – the bigger the better!! I loved the way we dressed in the 80’s. People may think it’s tacky now, but it brings back wonderful memories for me!!

(In case you’re wondering, starting from top row, left, the movies are Working Girl; Heathers; Dirty Dancing (I think); and TV shows (bottom row), Designing Women and Dynasty. I didn’t watch Dynasty but I loved and still love Designing Women.)

  1. I think that is Jennifer Grey as Ferris Bueller’s sister 🙂 I liked the fashions in the 80’s, but looking back now I don’t. Those plaid bell bottoms are cool.

  2. I loved Designing Women, too. I especially loved the episode when Julia jumped all over a woman for hassling Suzanne (whose name I love, by the way haha). Here it is here: https://youtu.be/FOllz6eGbXI

I loved the “granny” dresses, as we called them when I was a kid. I had one in elementary school. Mine was red and ruled the classroom when we danced to Shoo, Fly, Don’t Bother Me. 🙂 I still like them, but I don’t wear dresses these day.

I think bell bottoms were cool, but I never liked polyester. I call it “icky-ester” 🙂

Thanks for joining the challenge. Have a blessed weekend!
